The challenge:
After fast growth of their own developed cloud solution, Katapult, Krystal realized it needed to scale quickly and spin up an equally responsive and robust global architecture. However, the perfect data center partner had to meet their high ethical and environmental standards. The results:
Krystal chose Iron Mountain Data Centers for its 100% matched renewable power as well as rooftop solar array (available at select locations). After launching initially in the U.S., the company has since expanded into EMEA and is looking to expand further into the Asia-Pacific region. Katapult is now plugged into the diverse connectivity ecosystems of all Iron Mountain facilities. In their words:
"We loved the fact that there was renewable power being generated on-site, but also saw Iron Mountain as a longer-term match due to their standards, their ecosystems and their location spread." - Krystal CEO & Founder

Frequently asked questions
What makes the mumbai data center market unique?
Mumbai is India's largest and most established data center market, currently accounting for almost half of the country's data center capacity. With a population of 26 million and GDP of $280 billion, Mumbai serves as India's financial and business capital on the west coast. The city offers the most advanced and diverse power and fiber infrastructure in India, including multiple submarine cable links to the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Mumbai's position as a primary landing point for the majority of India's 17 major subsea connections provides direct access to international bandwidth forecast to multiply tenfold by 2028. Most recent data center developments concentrate in the modern, fast-growing Navi Mumbai district, where Iron Mountain operates all three facilities.
How many data center facilities does Iron Mountain have in the Mumbai area?
By 2027, Iron Mountain will operate three carrier-neutral Navi Mumbai data centers with a combined 93+ MW of power capacity across 1,500,000+ square feet (140,000+ square meters). MUM-1, operational since 2015, is one of India's busiest and most successful India data centers with 50,000 square feet, 2.3 MW of total power, and an 850-strong customer ecosystem. MUM-2, opened in February 2023, delivers 110,631 square feet with 6 MW of IT load across a purpose-built facility designed for high-density AI workloads and featuring N+1 DG sets, chilled-water-based cooling in N+2 configuration, and express feeder connectivity. The MUM-3 campus, scheduled for completion in 2027, will provide 85 MW of hyperscale-ready capacity, establishing Mumbai as Iron Mountain's anchor market in India. All three facilities interconnect to provide seamless ecosystem access and unified operations across the campus.
How much total capacity do you have in Mumbai?
